Bites and Stings - what are yours like?

APIS
Honey Bee

VERY SENSITIVE TO TOUCH, even a hair is intolerable.
Stinging, burning, pricking pains.
Itching. Large pink/white wheals.
Intolerance of heat.
Œdema. Pink/red swelling. May be generalised or local.
Sensation of constriction.
Worse for:
Heat, touch pressure (except head), after sleeping, right side.
Better for:
COLD, applications, bathing, open air. Motion. Sitting erect.
Consider for:
Bee-stings, hives, nettle-rash, sties

HYPERICUM
St. John's Wort

Acute pain from injuries to nerves or parts rich in nerves.
Pains shoot away from site of injury: esp. upwards; up limbs, up and down spine.
Searing pains.
Puncture wounds, from bites, stings etc.
Worse from:
Touch. Jolting. Cold.
Better from:
Stillness, lying on affected part
Horsefly bites.

LEDUM
Wild Rosemary

Affected part feels cold, but is helped by cold applications.
Part looks pale or purple and puffy, may have marbled appearance -insect bites, animal bites, stings esp. mosquitoes.
Particularly for wounds which do not bleed, but which are deep.
Pain is localised. Shifting tearing pains.
Worse from:
Warmth, heat of bed. Night. Motion.
Better from:
COLD APPLICATIONS
Consider for:
Bites. Stings. Puncture wounds[alongside anti-tetanus if required]
