I had been interested for a long time in a wider, more holistic lifestyle which included experimenting with diet, meditation and ecological awareness so homeopathy felt like a natural step further in that direction.
I graduated from the Northern College of Homeopathy in 1990 and have been practising Homeopathy ever since in different evolving forms both theoretically and practically e.g. a homeopathic clinic for Mental Health Matters 1993 - 95.
When I was a student, the connections between emotional distress and physical illness often became apparent when taking a history of illness and this led me to further training in counselling. My Homeopathic practice is led by the philosophy of 'going with' or working with the suffering / symptoms rather than 'against' the problem as is so often the case in allopathic medicine. At present I work part-time as a counsellor in GP's surgeries in Gateshead and for the rest of the week conduct a private practice in Homeopathy and Counselling.
