The structure of the course
is based on 10 weekend sessions a year for four years and on extensive
and well-supported clinic practice. Education at NCHM is set at first
degree level and involves a considerable amount of self-directed research
and home study.
Formal lectures are few and
discussion is welcomed. We teach a core curriculum in common with
other homeopathic colleges recognized by the Society of Homeopaths.
We seek to teach and learn in an environment which supports students
to find their own particular style of practising homeopathy as an
expression of their own personalities.
We do not teach any one style
of practising and we regularly invite teachers from other colleges
and disciplines to bring new ideas and variety of experience.
Ours is an education course
for homeopaths, and the practice of homeopathy is more than simply
a matter of selecting the right remedy. We therefore teach the fundamentals
of diet and nutrition and discuss other methods of supportive treatment,
for example massage, exercise and other therapies.
We focus on the development
of professional practitioner skills and encourage self-awareness so
that students are properly equipped for the many challenges of practising
an holistic approach to medicine.
The course also offers a
good grounding in orthodox medical science, emphasizing its relevance
to homeopathic treatment.
