Other places:

A series of free lectures in Newcastle and Sunderland which will interest those of us who find the history of ideas fascinating:
'Before Depression"

The first nine lectures are now available as free audio-files. They include the correspondence between James Boswell and his father on the subject of depression and employment. And Samuel Johnson on the effects of idleness!

This series is now complete; a second will start in 2009. There will also be an exhibiton at the Shipley Art Gallery and an international conference in June 2008.
